New website highlights how much more John Rustad would make you pay

Today, the BC NDP launched a new website that calculates how much more John Rustad would make people pay.

The interactive site asks visitors to answer basic questions about their life circumstances—such as the number of vehicles in their family and the number of children using childcare—and uses Rustad’s past statements and records to estimate what he’ll cost that individual.

For example, a family with one insured vehicle can expect to pay $500 more a year for car insurance under John Rustad’s plan. He voted against the switch to Enhanced Care, which enabled these savings, and has promised to “end the ‘no-fault’ insurance system,” which would drive up rates by $500 a year.

Ravi Parmar, BC NDP Candidate:

“John Rustad’s record shows that he’ll make people pay more - to get around, to raise their kids, and for the healthcare they need. On car insurance alone, he’s getting ready to ding people for $500 more a year. People can use this calculator and see he’s a risk they can’t afford.”
