Marie Della Mattia to direct BC NDP election campaign focused on people, says Eby
BC NDP Leader David Eby announced today that Marie Della Mattia will serve as the party’s Campaign Director for the 2024 provincial election.
“This fall we’ll be putting forward a campaign platform to continue taking action on the challenges British Columbians face in their daily lives,” said BC NDP Leader David Eby. “Marie is the right person to build and communicate our plan to help everyone in our province, not just those at the very top.”
Eby says that Della Mattia’s focus on people matches his vision for helping British Columbians.
“British Columbians want a government that will continue to strengthen health care, help families with costs, deliver more homes faster, and create good jobs for people,” said Eby. “Marie shares that vision. And like me, she understands the risk of the out-of-touch opposition parties, who have voted repeatedly to protect speculators in our housing market, and keep pandering to those who want to drive British Columbians apart.”
“Marie has been a skilled campaigner and champion for our party’s plan for British Columbia,” said BC NDP President Aaron Sumexheltza. “We couldn’t be happier to have her lead our team into the next election so that we can keep taking action for people.”
“In October, British Columbians will have a choice about who can best lead British Columbians through challenging times: leaders who want to start culture wars or protect housing speculators, or a David Eby-led government that is defending the interests of everyday British Columbians on what matters to them," said Della Mattia. “I’ve worked on many election campaigns, and I’ve signed on to lead this one because it’s so important to re-elect David Eby and continue the action he is taking to help people in our province.”
Marie Della Mattia served as a key advisor on the 2017 and 2020 BC NDP election campaigns. She has helped elect or re-elect seven NDP Premiers across Canada and held a variety of roles in the party and government. She will take on her role of Campaign Director on February 5, 2024.
