We have a plan to Build BC strong.
British Columbia is facing an existential moment.
Trump's economic attacks, inflation, and threats to our sovereignty have shaken the ground we stand on.
But in the face of that chaos, we’re working together to build BC stronger. To defend what matters most.
David Eby has a plan to build BC strong - to fight for us now when we need it most, to create good jobs, strengthen healthcare, protect our communities and our environment, and make life more affordable.
The Conservative parties are a mess - we can’t afford their cuts or their chaos.
They will cut public service in order to give those at the top a tax cut. They’ve said healthcare and education would “take the brunt” of their cuts. Their plans to scrap our ICBC changes would double car insurance. And they would derail major projects and investments that people are counting on.
The stakes have never been higher. They are a risk we can’t afford.
We’re working with Prime Minister Mark Carney to build B.C. and Canada strong together.
We’re fighting for British Columbians - and we’re not backing down. We’re charting a path to a brighter, more secure future for British Columbians.
With more jobs and opportunity, built here. Healthcare you can count on. Strong communities. Protected air, land and water. And protection from rising costs - gas, groceries and housing.
This is what we have been laser-focused on as government.
And these next steps are part of our plan to build BC strong.
We’ll keep adding to this page throughout the campaign. So keep checking back.

The next steps forward are:
Supporting small businesses through the trade war
Small and medium-sized businesses in British Columbia are facing financial turbulence as they absorb the direct impact of U.S. tariffs, leaving trade-exposed businesses with lost customers and real financial damage. Small businesses employ most BC workers. Protecting them means protecting your job and your community's main street. We’re supporting small businesses, protecting local job creators, and helping young people gain essential work experience.
Helping young people and local job creators through the Youth Hiring Tax Credit
Small businesses make our communities vibrant, sponsor local teams and events, and give young people their very first jobs. However, young people often face significant barriers breaking into employment and gaining essential work experience. To help young people gain valuable work experience and support local job creators, we are making it easier for small businesses to hire young workers.
Built in B.C. & Canada buying rules
Donald Trump’s trade war and attacks on B.C. workers and businesses threaten our economy and public infrastructure projects. To drive economic growth and protect local jobs, we must leverage our historic investments in schools, hospitals, and transportation and become our own best customer.
Doubling critical mineral exports
Donald Trump’s trade war is wreaking havoc on B.C. and Canadian families, causing economic upheaval and job losses. Expanding Prince Rupert’s port capacity and unlocking critical minerals will keep our economy growing, build supply chain independence from the U.S., and create good-paying jobs for British Columbians.
Delivering major projects and good jobs
B.C. is an economic leader, but global economic instability and U.S. trade threats mean we must keep moving forward with major nation-building investments. To secure our future and expand opportunities, we are accelerating major infrastructure, energy, and resource projects that create high-paying jobs and fund vital public services like healthcare and education.
Building the next generation of BC Ferries in B.C.
For too long, BC Ferries has sent major ferry contracts overseas, sending public dollars and good jobs out of our province. By building B.C.’s next generation of ferries right here at home, we can support local shipyards, strengthen our maritime sector, and ensure public investments create opportunities for British Columbians. Committing to domestic shipbuilding of BC ferries can unlock up to $1.5 billion in GDP and support over 10,000 person-years of work.
Boosting the BC Manufacturing Jobs Fund
President Trump’s unfair trade war is an attack on B.C. workers, businesses, and communities, particularly in our forest sector. To build a stronger, more resilient, and self-reliant economy, we must invest in local manufacturing to help B.C. businesses find new customers, expand production, and protect local jobs.
YOUR HEALTHCARE
Healthcare you can count on.
- Recruit more doctors and nurses to work in BC
- Train more healthcare workers here
- Strengthen care for seniors
- Cut wait times
We’re making progress for you. - A million more people connected to a family doctor.
- 24 new and expanded hospitals and 48 urgent primary care centres.
- A new medical school at SFU Surrey, training more doctors here.
- Recruited hundreds of U.S. doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers to join the thousands of new healthcare workers hired here.

The next steps forward are:
More doctors and nurses, fast-tracking international graduates
To meet the growing demand for healthcare across B.C., we’re expanding our medical training capacity, opening more primary care clinics, and breaking down barriers for qualified healthcare professionals trained internationally. Fast-tracking credentials and expanding same-day appointments will get skilled doctors and nurses onto the front lines and provide faster care for British Columbians.
Shorter waits, more diagnostic equipment
Waiting for a scan or surgery can mean living with pain and wondering every day when you'll finally get the call. With B.C.’s population growing and aging, demand for surgical procedures and diagnostic imaging is at an all-time high. We need to do more to reduce wait times in B.C., and expand capacity so patients get care faster.
Asking the wealthiest to pitch in a bit more to strengthen healthcare for you
In uncertain times, we have a plan to protect what matters most, like healthcare that’s there when you need it and good schools for your kids. Unlike the Conservatives, we won’t cut healthcare, and so we need to be honest about how we pay for it. BC maintains the lowest net middle- income tax rates in the country. As we face an unprecedented attack on our economy and rising costs for working families, we will fund stronger healthcare for everyone by asking top income earners to contribute a little more, while 96% of people in B.C. pay nothing more. That’s how we’ll build B.C. strong for all of us.
Strengthening health care for seniors
The people who built our province deserve dignity and peace of mind as they age. That means support to stay in the home you love, getting help when you need it, and knowing there will be a place for you when you need more care.
Tripling U.S. health care worker recruitment
A global shortage of health care workers and rising demand mean we must recruit, retain, and train more staff. Bringing doctors, nurses, and health care professionals to B.C. improves care for everyone and lightens the workload for healthcare workers. We’re tripling down on the success of the targeted U.S. health care recruitment campaign that has already brought over 800 U.S. doctors, nurses and health care workers to work in B.C. communities.
Protecting public health care from U.S.-style privatization
Universal public health care is part of who we are as Canadians—a promise that we take care of each other, no matter who you are or how big your bank account is. As Conservative politicians push toward two-tiered systems and private pay-for-care models that drain doctors and nurses from public care, we are taking action to defend Medicare and ensure care is always delivered based on need, not ability to pay.
YOUR COSTS
Protection from rising costs - gas, groceries and housing.
- Cut gas by up to 30 cents a litre - that’s $20 a tank
- Capping prices on grocery basics to bring your bills down
- Keep housing costs down and free up more homes
- Keep delivering homes people can afford
We’re making progress for you. - Child care costs cut in half, saving families over $7,200 a year.
- Starting rents down more than 10% and have fallen 27 months in a row.
- ICBC rates cut by $500, frozen for seven years running, will be frozen for 3 more years - meaning a decade of rate freezes.
- BC Hydro electricity bills are near the lowest in North America - about half of what Albertans pay.
Learn more about our work underway to protect people from rising costs.
The next steps forward are:
Cutting gas prices by 30 cents a litre and cracking down on gouging
Big oil and gas companies have exploited overseas conflicts to make record profits, leaving ordinary drivers and truckers to pay the price every time they fill up. Donald Trump's war in Iran caused global oil prices to spike, and oil companies used the conflict to unfairly inflate their margins by 20 cents a litre. This corporate price gouging has cost British Columbians an estimated $865 million in added fuel costs, while the four largest Canadian oil companies doubled their quarterly profits. With Trump now threatening a ban on diesel exports, drivers and truckers face even higher costs at the pump.
Cracking down on big grocery price-gouging, capping profits on basics, and banning predatory surveillance pricing
Families are being squeezed every time they go to the store because corporate retailers are using inflation as a cover to jack up prices on essential goods, while the profits of grocery giants soar. This year, an average family of four will spend over $17,500 on groceries with prices 27% higher than five years ago, while five retail chains control 80% of the market.
Freezing ICBC basic auto insurance rates
Families need their cars to take kids to school and to work - they want predictable low costs for car insurance. While Conservatives made a secret deal to dismantle ICBC and double insurance costs for drivers, we’re focused on keeping costs down and maintaining stability for B.C. drivers.
Turning more empty condos into homes people can afford
As Donald Trump's trade war drives up prices here, we need to do everything we can to lower people's everyday costs, starting with housing costs. While measures like the Speculation and Vacancy Tax have helped turn 20,000 empty units into long-term rental homes, developers holding onto empty, unsold finished condos continue to keep housing prices out of reach for middle-class families. Over 5,000 finished condos worth $4.45 billion are currently sitting empty and unsold across B.C., with over 1,300 vacant for more than two years.
Free transit for low-income seniors
The Seniors Bus Pass allows low-income seniors to ride public transit, including buses, the SkyTrain, and the SeaBus. Currently, low-income seniors pay a $45 annual fee. We’ll eliminate that fee to make life a little easier for BC seniors most in need.
Building more affordable child care on school grounds
Finding affordable child care is life-changing for families. We’re committed to a universal, affordable child care system in BC. That’s why we fought to make child care a central part of the historic Canada-BC Shared Prosperity Agreement, and we're working with the federal government to invest in more spaces, workers, and quality care.
Making Housing More Affordable
British Columbians work hard, but it’s still too hard to afford a good home here. For too long, conservatives have let speculators drive the cost of housing out of reach for people. David Eby’s housing plan is making a difference. We have to keep going to build more affordable homes.
YOUR ENVIRONMENT
Protecting B.C.’s beautiful natural environment, for now and for the future
- Protect our land and water
- Reduce pollution from industry
- Expand EVs and energy-efficient homes
- Build BC and Canada’s clean energy economy
We’re making progress for you. - 98% of BC’s electricity is generated from clean and renewable sources
- 30% of BC’s land protected by 2030 – with 20% protected already.
- Lower pollution from B.C.’s oil and gas sector - down 10% since 2018.
- 6 million hectares of old growth deferred or protected from logging.
- Invested $36 billion to expand B.C.’s clean electricity system.
Learn about our work underway to protect our land, air and water in the face of climate change.
The next steps forward are:
Protecting our planet and climate
B.C.’s clean environment and natural beauty are worth defending. While Conservative politicians want to roll back environmental protections and stall our progress on climate action, we’re taking real steps to cut pollution, expand clean energy, and protect our communities for future generations.
Protecting old growth
B.C.’s ancient forests are irreplaceable and essential to our biodiversity, culture, and way of life. Protecting the oldest and rarest trees requires working directly with First Nations and supporting forest workers and communities through the transition to sustainable forestry.
Protecting 30% of B.C.’s lands by 2030
B.C.’s watersheds, ancient forests, and rich biodiversity are vital to our environment and way of life. By taking a balanced approach grounded in conservation, economic development, and reconciliation, we can protect our natural heritage, create good jobs, and build supply chain independence.
Strengthening watershed security across B.C.
Clean, secure water is essential for healthy communities, local agriculture, and thriving ecosystems. Investing in our watersheds protects B.C. from climate impacts such as severe droughts and floods.
Creating the Clean Futures Fund
Transitioning to clean energy creates good jobs and helps families save money on home heating and transportation. By dedicating revenues from new industrial development to climate programs, we can build a cleaner, more affordable future.
Safeguarding our water from AI data centres
As technology industries grow, we must ensure large-scale data centres do not strain our electricity grid or compete with local communities and farmers for water.
Protecting B.C.’s coast, finalizing the Great Bear Sea Marine Reserve
The Great Bear Sea is one of the richest marine environments on Earth. Establishing a national marine conservation area reserve safeguards coastlines, supports sustainable local industries, and protects marine life for future generations.
YOUR COMMUNITY
Investing in what matters most for your community.
- Record investments in homes, hospitals, schools and transportation
- Protecting you and your family through emergencies
- Keeping people and communities safe
We’re making progress for you - 250 major school capital projects complete or underway
- 65,700 new licensed child care spaces for families throughout B.C.
- 256 more RCMP officers hired
