Six ways David Eby will protect B.C.'s nature

David Eby fought to keep the North Coast tanker ban, created the BC Watershed Security Fund and banned crypto miners from the BC Hydro grid. Here's what comes next.

  1. 1

    Protect our oldest trees

$50 million to turn temporary protections for the rarest old-growth forests into permanent ones, while helping mills retool to use second growth.

  2. 2

    Keep our water clean

$30 million a year for the BC Watershed Security Fund to keep our rivers, lakes and drinking water healthy for generations.

  3. 3

A hard line on AI data centres

Keep the firm cap on the power they can use, and bring in strict new water standards, public reporting of their water use and drought plans made with local communities.

  4. 4

    Protect 30% of B.C. by 2030

Working with Prime Minister Carney and First Nations to protect 30% of B.C.'s land, starting with an area in the Northwest the size of 12,000 Stanley Parks.

  5. 5

    Protect our coast

A new marine sanctuary in the Great Bear Sea, created with six coastal First Nations and the federal government.

  6. 6

    A new Clean Futures Fund

Part of the money from new oil and gas development goes into a fund, starting with $50 million, to help families and businesses switch to cleaner, cheaper energy and create new jobs.

Lorne Doerkson's Conservatives pushed for a new heavy oil pipeline to B.C.'s north coast, oppose the plan to protect 30% of B.C.'s land, and are running candidates who deny climate change. David Eby will protect the place we call home.
