Vancouver - Email Fundraising Officer - June-October, Full-time

The BC New Democratic Party is seeking an email fundraising officer with a passion for progressive politics and online communications to play a central role in the BC NDP’s online fundraising program in the lead up to the 2024 election.

The email fundraising officers will be responsible for writing and implementing the election fundraising campaign emails, as well as coming up with fresh fundraising email ideas or campaigns.

As a key member of the fundraising team, you will leverage your strong understanding of progressive politics, fundraising, and digital best practices to grow and engage with our supporter and donor communities.

Location: Vancouver

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop, write and produce a high volume of emails focused preliminary on fundraising campaigns.
  • Build and proof emails in the email platform.
  • Identify and optimize target audiences to maximize donations and click through rates.
  • Build custom donation landing pages in ActionKit.
  • Ensure all materials fit within the BC NDP’s brand, voice and message framing.
  • Assist in the production of email acquisition programs using sign-up pages, online
  • search marketing and social media advertising.
  • Collaborate with other departments including but not exclusively the communications team and the field team.
  • Provide email support to other teams as required.
  • Provide copy-editing support to teammates.
  • Monitor other political email programs to stay on top of best practices and trends.
  • QA, proof, and schedule fundraising emails according to the email strategy using ActionKit.
  • Work with the social media team to identify and execute on good fundraising moments for social media that tie into an email campaign or strategy.
  • Come up with creative ideas to improve the design of emails, or to add graphics to emails to make them more compelling.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing skills and proven ability to communicate effectively online.
  • Knowledge of current email, social media and digital fundraising trends.
  • Experience and familiarity with Google Docs, Slack, and project management tools.
  • Experience with ActionKit, or another bulk email platform/CRM.
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively in a past-paced campaign environment.
  • Some evenings and weekend work is expected/mandatory, especially in the weeks immediately before the election.
  • A strong commitment to the BC NDP’s core values and a familiarity with provincial politics.
  • Previous experience working in a digital role, specifically within an online marketing or digital fundraising team, is a strong asset.

Bonus

  • Experience with NDP, labour or progressive organizations’ campaigns.
  • Knowledge of basic HTML and CSS.
  • Experience building landing pages and emails with ActionKit.

The position is covered by the CUPE 3787 Collective Agreement with a monthly starting wage $5,990.30, as well as benefits including vacation and extended health coverage.
